"Behind Those Quiet Eyes"
Quality of Life Activities Program

A full day training workshop for health
professionals has been tested throughout South
Florida for the past five years as acknowledged by the October 16, 1999 Miami
Herald Living and Arts section. This program is designed to reach patients
regardless of their age and/or capacity. The course covers the most effective
techniques in the creative arts to work best with various challenged
populations: clowning, creative movement, poetry therapy, music and sing-along.
Challenged individuals awaken, connect with others, express themselves and often
share their joy. |

You will learn:
(a)
pantomime, body poems, slapstick for connecting the body and mind; (b) how to
use poetry to spark memories and emotions that connect with others; (c) the most
effective expressive music; (d) how to bring out the humor and clowning talents
of your patients; (e) the best references and resources for elders; (f) the
funniest props to stimulate and energize your group; (g) helpful safety
tips; (h) How to connect with a patient effectively; (i) fun approaches to
chair dancing.

Facilitator, Lisabeth Reynolds, is a
Certified Poetry Therapist, a Certified Instructor of Journal to the Self, a
member of the National Association of Poetry Therapy and Phi Beta Kappa. She
holds a B.A. in Spanish from Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY.
